The barn that the soldiers are looking at would have benefited from cross beams in its construction. There was a fire and several floods that destroyed the structural integrity of the outbuildings on the Huebner Onion property. Floodwaters pushed this structure over so that its vertical components (in this photo) are at about 60 degrees instead of 90 degrees from the horizontal. I think this structure has since been removed.

This prickly pear is growing on the roof of the crooked barn.
