Demons in the Closet was originally published on the web by Zuda Comics in January 2008, as part of the monthly competition. DitC placed 2nd in the contest.
The illustrator was me, Amy Watson.
The author was John Zakour, who has published a number of campy science fiction novels (The Plutonium Blonde, The Frost Haired Vixen, The Blue Haired Bombshell, etc., -- all part of the pulp Zachary Nixon Johnson series), several comedic and nonfiction books, and written for assorted comics, including his webcomic Working Daze, and ghostwritten several
syndicated/print comics, including Rugrats, Mother Goose and Grimmy, Bound and Gagged, Dennis the Menace, and Marmaduke. John submitted two other comics to the Zuda competitions, one of which (Lasers, Dragons and Lies) placed 3rd.
Zuda Comics was an experimental foray into webcomics by DC that ran from 2007 to 2010. It was an open competition where creators had to submit eight pages of a potential series. The top ten editorial picks were put into the monthly competition, and the winner received a contract to continue the series.
